This is one of my major contentions in my mind. The point you've made sways me towards staying in but I can't help but think that they wouldn't help us at all? The EU only wants us around for our money, they have never really liked us and we make a whole lot of noise in parliament through Farage rather than just obeying.
Do we really know that yet either way? The current government should have been working on plans since it was announced that there would be a public vote on this.
That's a little bit misleading. Scotland would have lost an incredibly strong currency in the pound, we're moving away from a weaker currency that will be imposed upon us in 2020 whether we like it or not. We're also keeping an established currency that holds weight throughout the world. Scotland then wouldn't have the wealth or the size to attract trading partners at reasonable rates and regulations, the UK would, those foreign goods we buy by the boat load every year arn't going anywhere. The world is run by big business and money, that's not going to change.
Nobody knows the financial implications, the Bank of England explicitly stated this in their last forecast. The BBC spun that into "recession is coming" headlines.
This is the major point people need to take into account when voting. Both sides have lied to you, both sides have tried (and are trying to) manipulate your thoughts and the way you think to further their own agenda.
I'll debate anyone until the sun goes down but after that i'll always promote people making up their mind and not believing the bollocks they read in the papers. Your vote is the right one, either way, because it'll be the one that benefits you the most.
