Sion got changed pretty massively and is a strong pick in top. He can do wraiths at level one by using his passive and TP to top for a free level 2 without missing anything from the wave (realistically)
Gnar is also ridiculously good now. Just play very patiently with him and you'll do really well. I see a lot of people go tanky early on him. I personally think Blade/Triforce + Randuins/Sunfire kinda like you build jax/irelia will always work.
Irelia/Jax as per usual, irelia moreso seems to be wrecking at the start of the season.
DFG got removed, doesn't mean assassins' still don't ruin your day. Jungle Fizz is the only place you should really play fizz now. Ahri mid is retardedly good (although just got nerfed a bit). Liss is strong. Kassadin / Cassio are great champions to learn/play at the minute.
Botlane is finally decently interesting at this point in the season. Loads of champions are being picked (Kalista/Graves/Sivir/Ezreal/Corki/Cait/Draven) and for supports Janna is probably king right now, thresh is thresh, braum is braum and Leona is love Leona is life.
Jungle is a bit weird. People finally realised Vi is God. J4 is dunking still. Westerners still haven't figured out how 2 rengar. Nidalee is insanely good as well due to buffs on being able to apply her passive to jungle camps and lategame she WILL 1 shot ad / ap squishies that haven't bought a banshees veil... (It's really fucking hard to play as an ADC right now)
Right now the drake changes are really good. It actually gives a tangible choice between taking drake and a tower instead of one team getting drake and the other team 'settling' for a tier-1. Now it is often the case to see siege teams that don't care about the 1st or second drake. Only to start focusing on 3/4/5. I actually think this is the much stronger way to play as map control > 6% extra AD/AP (which really isn't THAT much)
